The Vancouver Canucks locker room has been dealing with a J.T. Miller-Elias Pettersson rivalry for years, and now Quinn Hughes has addressed the situation.

After J.T. Miller's absence from the Vancouver Canucks, there's been plenty of question marks about his situation, including speculation that there's a rivalry in the locker room between him and Elias Pettersson.

Former Head Coach Bruce Boudreau recently confirmed the news, with tensions seemingly rising in Vancouver on and off the ice.

There's been plenty of speculation that this rivalry was the reason for Miller's recent absence from the Canucks, and while that's yet to be confirmed, everything is starting to point in that direction.

Now, captain Quinn Hughes has addressed the situation, and while he didn't outright say the two have a rocky relationship, he does note that it's something that the team, and especially him in a leadership role has to work on.

So far the rivalry hasn't affected the team on the ice, as they've put together a solid 16-10-6 record through 32 games played, and with the team now getting healthy, there's still plenty of confidence in the locker room moving forward.

Due to this increased rivalry however, there's been speculation that Elias Pettersson could be on the way out shortly, with reports recently confirming that Patrik Allvin has had discussions about a potential trade of Pettersson.

We've seen this type of thing in the past in hockey, and with strong leadership from Hughes and Rick Tocchet, it's certainly something that they can survive, and given the amount of talent they have in that room, it's safe to say that if they can deal with it, they've got a solid shot at making a run through the Western Conference.
