Macklin Celebrini is expected to be drafted 1st overall this summer at the 2024 NHL draft. Before that happens though, the 17-year-old will suit up for team Canada at the 2024 World Championship of Hockey.

Today, NHL insider Darren Dreger confirmed that top 2024 draft prospect Macklin Celebrini will be part of team Canada for the upcoming 2024 World Championship of hockey in Czechia. This is despite the fact that he is just 17 years old, a testament to just how good at hockey he is.

Macklin Celebrini is expected to join Connor Bedard and Canada for the World Championships.

Celebrini is the consensus number one pick for the 2024 draft, expected to go to whichever team wins the draft lottery. The San Jose Sharks own the best odds, with a 25.5% chance of ultimately getting the number one pick. Meanwhile, last year's 1st overall pick Connor Bedard will also be representing Canada at the event. Veteran NHL defenseman and Bedard's teammate Seth Jones addressed the possibility of facing him at the event as he suits up for the USA.

«If I'm playing Canada and Bedsy's on it, I'm going to play him just as hard as I play anybody else.»

There will certainly be no shortage of young talent at the tournament, making it a must-watch event for anyone who is into NHL prospects. Hopefully Celebrini and Bedard will put on a show that will live on in the memories of hockey fans everywhere for years to come.
