NHL draft lottery complete: Macklin Celebrini's new team confirmed
The NHL has officially done their annual draft lottery and the fate of projected 2024 first overall pick Macklin Celebrini has been confirmed.
The NHL just officially aired the 2024 draft lottery and we now know where Macklin Celebrini will be drafted.
The San Jose Sharks won the draft lottery to draft first overall while the second pick was awarded to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Macklin Celebrini is not considered a generational talent like Connor Bedard but is projected to be among the best in the NHL one day. He is the first-ever Hobey Baker Award winner drafted first overall and is slotted to make an instant impact with his new NHL team.
There are a variety of other players who could go second overall including NCAA defenseman Artyom Levshunov, a native of Belarus, and Russian sensations Ivan Demidov, a high-scoring forward, and Anton Silayev, a 6'7" smooth-skating defenseman.
