With the Montreal Canadiens expected to enter a significant rebuild or retool at least 4 teams have called the Canadiens about forward Brendan Gallagher.
Gallagher is in the 1st year of a 6 year deal with a cap hit of $6,500,000 per season and has been a key part of the Canadiens for his entire NHL career.
The 29 year old was one of Marc Bergevin's favourite players and some have criticized the favoritism Gallagher received under Bergevin, so it will be interesting to see how Jeff Gorton handles situations such as Gallagher's as teams call and attempt to pick the scraps of the Canadiens.
The 4 teams currently linked to Gallagher are Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Minnesota and the New York Rangers.
