Last night the Toronto Maple Leafs were hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning in game 5 of their series, and despite going down 2-0 early in the game, the Leafs stormed back to win 4-3 and take a 3-2 lead in the series.
During the second period with just under 2 minutes to go, Matthews finished a check on Lightning's Mikhail Sergachev, which was directly on the numbers and left him down on the ice hurt for a few minutes.
There was no penalty on the call, which considering the amount of penalties handed out in this series, is a little surprising.
Listen to this Youtuber doing his best George Parros impression on the hit.
I do not agree with his 5 game suspension idea, but I do believe this play should have atleast resulted in a penalty.
