20-Year-Old Defenseman Leaves Hockey After Concussions

The London Knight announced today via X that one of their most veteran defensemen will be stepping away from playing in the OHL. The announcement confirms defenseman Ethan Mackinnon will be putting his playing career on hold due to concussions.

Overage defenceman Ethan MacKinnon has announced he's stepping away from hockey due to concussion related symptoms.

Despite his time playing for the London Knights coming to an end, he will still be a big part of the organization. The Knights announced Mackinnon will join their staff as a development coach. This will allow him to transition to a new career while keeping the door open for a return if his health permits it.

As Mackinnon begins this new adventure we wish him all the best and hope he can continue to stay healthy.
