The Columbus Blue Jackets have struggled as of late, and after benching both Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine late in games, they've now taken even more drastic measures.
$9 million star given a healthy scratch
After recently benching Patrik Laine, the Blue Jackets have officially made him a healthy scratch, and it appears that the top-line star isn't happy with the decision.
"He's not happy about the decision, don't get me wrong. But right now I think Patty needs to take a deep breath, go back to the working lab and get his touches back, get his shot back, get his confidence back so he can be the No. 29 Patrik Laine we all know he can be." - Blue Jackets head coach Pascal Vincent
Due to injury, Laine has played in just nine games this season, and over that time he has tallied just 2 goals and 3 points, so perhaps this is the move that gets him going, but right now, there's a chance he could be on the way out, as the team will look to find other options to get linemate Johnny Gaudreau rolling.
