If you need a feel-good story for today, this is it. Former National League Hockey player Ian White, who was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs back in 2002 191st overall, had his career derailed by addiction, and his struggles were very public.
White played in 503 career games with the Maple Leafs, Flames, Hurricanes, Sharks and Red Wings before his addiction costed him his career, family life and finances.
We are very happy to announce that White has overcome these addictions, has become sober and today it was announced that he signed a contract to play in the FPHL.
Congratulations Ian! Good luck on the rest of your hockey career!
