In a recent incident in the Swiss National League, involving two former NHL players, a dangerous play unfolded that was worryingly reminiscent of Adam Johnson's tragic passing. During a game, Martin Frk of the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and Lawrence Pilut of Lausanne HC were involved in a skirmish along the boards.

It began with Frk attempting to hit Pilut near the bench. Pilut evaded the hit, causing Frk to crash headfirst into his own bench. While Frk was down, Pilut continued to push him, leading to Frk kicking out his legs in response. Alarmingly, one of Frk's skate blades swung perilously close to Pilut's neck area, though the incident concluded without any apparent injury.

The incident resulted in Frk's immediate ejection from the game, and it seems likely that he will face further disciplinary action from the league.

Fortunately, Pilut did not suffer a cut from the incident, but the near miss with the skate blade to his neck/chest area was undoubtedly a cause for concern. The hockey community is now awaiting the league's decision regarding the length of Frk's suspension for this reckless action.
