Last season, the Florida Panthers upset the Bruins in their first-round playoff matchup, and even after the long summer, it's becoming clear that Boston didn't forget about it.
Questionable Hit From McAvoy
During their crucial early season encounter, superstar defenseman Charlie McAvoy tried to get physical and impose himself on the Panthers, but unfortunately, it didn't have the desired effect.
McAvoy ejected from FLA/BOS tonight
After this dirty hit on Oliver Ekman-Larson, the star Bruin was ejected, and will likely face a suspension due to the forceful contact with the head, leaving Boston short-handed against a talented team.
Whether or not a suspension occurs is another story, but given the NHL's desire to improve player safety, a hit like this just isn't necessary, and it needs to be stamped out of the game, with plenty of ways to be physical without targeting the head.
