Ryan Miller had a legendary career as a goaltender in the NHL. He spent 18 years in the NHL many of which he was an elite-level player. Now he takes his talents to the NHL in a different role.
Buffalo Trio Reunites In San Jose
Ryan Miller has been hired along with Thomas Vanek as scouts for the San Jose Sharks.
The pair played with General Manager Mike Grier in Buffalo in the early 2000s. Miller will specialize in goaltender scouting as well as a goaltending development coach. Vanek on the other hand has been hired as an amateur scout in charge of the state of Minnesota. Vanek who grew up in Austria played for the University of Minnesota and has resided there since playing. The trio shared the ice together in Buffalo fro several seasons of which they made multiple deep playoff runs.
Miller Continues His NHL Legacy
Ryan Miller's career is highlighted by a Vezina Trophy in 2010 and an Olympic Games silver medal. He is the all-time winningest goaltender for an American. He also recently had his number retired by the Buffalo Sabres. He will look to add to his Hall of Fame resume now as an executive.
