One of the brightest young stars in hockey was flipped onto his head and wound up convulsing on the ice in one of the scariest on-ice scenes you will ever see.

Podkolzin Convulses On The Ice

In an AHL matchup between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Colorado Eagles, 2019 10th-overall pick Vasily Podkolzin was flipped onto his head and began convulsing after landing.

It is a very tough watch.

VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED

Very scary situation. Middleton hit Podkolzin and he landed very awkwardly. Stretcher on the ice, it looked like Podkolzin was convulsing. Yikes

Everybody in the building was concerned for the health of Podkolzin. The Eagles roster and the Canucks roster were standing by as Podkolzin left the ice.

Both teams on the ice as Podkolzin is led off the ice in a stretcher

Podkolzin was visibly convulsing on the ice and those in attendance reported it as well.

There was a brief close-up and it did appear like Podkolzin was convulsing as players from both teams called for medical help.

However, Podkolzin was conscious when being stretchered off which was more than encouraging.

Finally, Podkolzin made an Instagram post to announce he is alright!

Thankfully Podkolzin is alive. It is unknown how much time he will miss as a result of this hit but it wouldn't be shocking to see him miss an extended period of time.
