Injured Forward Makes Hilarious Post Following Scary Injury
Nothing in hockey is scarier than when a player gets hit with a skate, particularly when it is near the face and neck area. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened on Tuesday when Bruins winger Jakub Lauko took a skate to his face. Luckily he just needed a few stiches and he even had a good sense of humor about it as he posted a joke on X this morning.
Lauko Feels Beautiful
The morning after the game, Lauko was quick to go to X, comparing himself to Gothmog from Lord of The Rings.
Lauko is a self-described Lord of The Rings super fan. He even got a tattoo of a quote on his left arm.
Lucky Lauko Avoids Serious Injury
The winger took the skate to face Tuesday night when Chicago's Jason Dickinson inadvertently clipped him as he was falling near the boards. Lauko immediately threw off his gloves and reached for his face as he skated off the ice quickly. Luckily for him, his eye was spared as the skate sliced him just milliliters away.
The Bruins will take on the Anaheim Ducks Thursday. We will have to see if Lauko is in the lineup, or if head coach Jim Montgomery will give him the night off to recover.
