NHL insider Darren Dreger sat down with Jets part-owner Mark Chipman to discuss the team's future in Canada's coldest city. What he said should make Jets fans feel a little more relaxed.
Chipman continued by discussing the attendance issues and why he thinks it will not be a major concern going forward.
The Spittin' Chiclets podcast was the first to point out the low attendance figures coming out of Winnipeg. Paul Bissonnette laid out a pretty convincing argument as to why the Jets should be able to fill their building, pointing out that it really is concerning that they are not doing so.
As the NHL continues to look to expand into new markets, the league may take a step back to look at how their current teams are performing. If it makes financial sense to move the Jets out of Winnipeg, perhaps the league would seriously consider that in a few years time. Afterall, the Jets have been relocated before.
