NHL insider David Pagnotta has just confirmed that the Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals have engaged in some discussions on a trade which would include Anthony Mantha and Joel Armia.
This comes after rumours that the Canadiens have been shopping Armia after recalling him from the AHL.
The potential trade brings some speculation as to whether or not the Canadiens would benefit from the trade, or if it would be better for the Capitals. A trade would leave the Canadiens paying Mantha $5.7 on the year, hemming them in further in cap constraints. Mantha had 27 points last season in 67 games compared to Armia's 14 in 43 games.
Who would win a potential trade?
