Unusual Scene During Senators vs Sabres Game

image

Yesterday, during the NHL's first ever "Frozen Frenzy", where all 32 teams were on the ice, the Senators and the Sabres faced off in a divisional matchup.

The race in the Atlantic is tight. With the Bruins, Maple Leafs, and Lightning likely reaching the playoffs easily, that leaves only one spot for the Senators, the Red Wings, and the Sabres.

The competition will be fierce, and every game between these teams is crucial.

Senators' head coach D.J. Smith went too far last night.

Senators Disrespect Goalie During Game

After two periods, Buffalo led 5-1. Head coach D.J. Smith changed goalies. Anton Forsberg, who allowed five goals on 18 shots, was replaced by Joonas Korpisalo, who stopped all five shots fired at him.

However, Smith didn't inform Forsberg, and a Sens player had to approach and inform him that his night was over.

Here's the video:

This shows a significant lack of respect from Smith and the Senators. We sincerely hope that they discussed matters after the game.

Do you think D.J. Smith will be fired this season?
