After being drafted well over 30 years ago, Jaromir Jagr's iconic hockey career is set to come to an end this year, as he is playing out the final year of his career with the Kladno Knights.
In 29 games this season, Jagr has 4 goals and 12 points for the team, a team that he owns a 100% stake in, with many, including the star forward worried about the future of the team's viability without him on the ice to drive interest.
Now, things are changing, as Jagr has confirmed that he's selling an 80% stake in the Knights to Tomas Drastil, a Czech legend in the hockey world, and while he's maintaining a minority stake, this gives the team financial stability moving forward after his retirement.
Unsurprisingly, this, paired with the news that Fenway Sports Group is looking to sell a minority stake in the Pittsburgh Penguins, the team that drafted Jagr back in 1990, fans have become excited as they begin to connect the dots of a possible Jagr involvement in the team.
There's been no evidence to say that this could be happening at this point in time, but it's no secret that the people in Pittsburgh love Jagr, and even if he's brought in to put a face on the ownership group, it would be a good move for Penguins fans.
Ultimately, if this is Jagr's last season on the ice, he will finish an incredible career where he began with Kladno in 1988 and finished in 2025, and wherever he goes and whatever he does after retirement, it's safe to say that he'll always bring the attention wherever he goes.
