BENCHED: Ducks Mysteriously Punish Trevor Zegras
The Anaheim Ducks defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets last night but they did so without the help of young star Trevor Zegras.
Zegras Benched
Last night the Anaheim Ducks faced off against the Columbus Blue Jackets in what would eventually become a 3-2 overtime victory. However, they did so handicapped as they were without star Trevor Zegras for the entire third period and all of overtime.
Not a single shift for Trevor Zegras in the third period, which is mildly concerning given that Anaheim was chasing a goal.
Last shift came without about three minutes left in the second. No injury, just a very strong message sent by Greg Cronin.

Why Zegras Was Benched
What reportedly happened was the Ducks were on a powerplay and Zegras himself turned the puck over three times.
I mean he single handily turned the puck over three times on a power playdidn't play after that. Cronin sending a message that no one is above the team.
Zegras will likely slot in for the Ducks' next game back to his normal role as a first-line player.
He finished last night with 12:26 TOI, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, and was a +0.
