A very confusing story has been arising in Chicago. Last night the Blackhawks made the decision to healthy scratch a member of their leadership group.

Blackhawks Healthy Scratch Bedard's Mentor Against Blue Jackets

The Blackhawks made a decision ahead of their game last night to make Corey Perry a healthy scratch against the Blue Jackets. This is lead to a lot of confusion, as the addition of Perry was made to mentor the young superstar Connor Bedard.

The decision has been reported as an "organizational decision" what caused this decision is unknown but for a player to go from the top powerplay to a healthy scratch is rarely seen.

Trouble In Chicago After Attempts to Mentor Bedard Fail

The Blackhawks off season plan was to surround Bedard with veterans to help mentor him in his first season in the NHL however with the Perry scratch it seems things are not going as planned.

To top it all off, an off season acquisition of Taylor Hall has failed, the former first overall player was just announced to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

Although Bedard has been doing just fine without these additions in the squad as he has ten goals and 16 points in 17 games. The support for Bedard is becoming limited if Perry is permanently scratched.
