Yesterday, Elliotte Friedman made a huge revelation concerning an illegal trade involving the Ottawa Senators.

Only days after giving a major suspension to Shane Pinto, the Sens' young prospect, it looks like Bettman continues to be on Ottawa's case.

A Past Trade Casts a Shadow Over the Senators

The Ottawa Senators traded Evgenii Dadonov to the Vegas Golden Knights, but the proper trade procedure wasn't followed.

"When [Vegas] acquired him from the Ottawa Senators, they were told that Dadonov had not submitted his trade request on time, so if Vegas wanted to move him, they could do whatever they needed to do," revealed Friedman on Hockey Night in Canada.

"That wasn't the case; he had submitted it," added Friedman. "The reason it's relevant now is because, sometime in the next few days, the NHL is going to announce some sort of punishment for the Senators for that situation."

"Sometime, I believe, in the next few days, the NHL will announce some sort of punishment for the Senators for that situation," Friedman said. "I think we're going to get a clear explanation of what happened and why Vegas wasn't at fault."

Dadonov was traded from Vegas to Anaheim, but the team was on his no-trade list, because the Senators never sent it to the Golden Knights.

It looks like the Senators will finally face the repercussions for their actions.
