Thorton Retires
NHL legend and 1997 first overall draft pick Joe Thornton has just announced his retirement via X to the San Jose Sharks faithful.
Jumbo Joe Thornton officially announces his retirement like only he could, no shirt and all.
First ballot Hockey Hall of Famer to be sure.
What a career. And what a character !
🚨 Important Shirtless Jumbo Message 🚨
Thornton amassed over 1700 total NHL games and scored 1539 points along the way. He was most dominant when he was in San Jose having won the Hart and the Art Ross in 2006 after being traded from Boston.
Thornton will surely make the Hall of Fame on his first chance to be voted in and will definitely have his number 19 retired by the Sharks.
We congratulate him on a fantastic NHL career and wish him all the best with his retirement.
