During the first period of this afternoon's game between the Ducks and the Flyers, heavyweights Nic Deslauriers and Ross Johnston dropped the mitts.
Deslauriers comes in at 6'1" and 218 lbs and is the reigning leader in PIMs in the NHL having amassed 136 PIMs last year. Johnston comes in much larger at 6'5" and 234 lbs. Johnston had 37 PIMs in 16 games with the Islanders last year.
Both players are quite skilled fighters so they got tangled up rather quickly. However, Deslauriers got more punches in while Johnston was able to pin him to the boards. It is truly a split decision and either player could be deemed the winner of this fight.
