The Nottingham Panthers, Adam Johnson's EIHL team, have confirmed his passing to the dismay of fans from all around the world.
Johnson Passes Away
Yesterday, the Nottingham Panthers played against the Sheffield Steelers in the EIHL. While everything seemed normal to begin with, things took a drastic turn for the worse when Adam Johnson took a skate blade to the throat.
The scene was horrific and it has now been confirmed by the Panthers that Johnson has passed away.
Here is the video of the freak injury: GRAPHIC VIDEO
The Nottingham Panthers are truly devastated to announce that Adam Johnson has tragically passed away following a freak accident at the game in Sheffield last night.
If there is anything to come of this, we hope that maybe there can be a mandatory equipment change so players are forced to wear neckguards. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this moment and we send our condolences during this troubling period. May Adam Johnson rest in peace.
