After introducing the newest additions to the Vancouver Canucks roster, the team is now going under some extreme criticism.

Mourned Defenseman's Number To Be Worn For First Time

Luc Bourdon wore the jersey number 28 in his short NHL career, which lasted just 36 games. When he was just 21, he was killed in a tragic motorcycle crash, leaving the Canucks shocked.

Since then, no player who has suited up for the team has worn the number 28 in recognition and memory of Bourdon. But today, that has changed and fans are not too happy.

The Canucks made an announcement regarding the jersey numbers that new additions Ian Cole, Carson Soucy, and Teddy Blueger will be wearing in the 2023-24 season.

It is indeed the veteran defenseman Cole that will take the number 28 next season, which has left the Vancouver fanbase in an outrage.

Showcase Of Disrespect

It seems to be that the Canucks did not approach Bourdon's family about his number being used once again and Wyatt Arndt voiced how he felt in the above social media post.

We will see if fans will warm up to the idea of Bourdon's number going to another player, or if the grudge will be held for a long time.
