While all of the attention in Vancouver right now is on J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser is still a major trade candidate for the team, with Jim Rutherford making intriguing comments on the situation as of late.
In recent times, speculation has been heating up over a potential Brock Boeser trade, with potential landing spots now being revealed by those around the NHL as the talented forward presents a fantastic upgrade on the wing for many teams.
According to ESPN, the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres could be trade partners for Vancouver, although the former could only make a deal happen if the long-awaited J.T. Miller deal doesn't come to fruition.
The 27-year-old came into 2024/25 on the back of the best season of his career, posting 40 goals and 73 points in a season that saw everyone in Vancouver posted career-high numbers, but unfortunately, he hasn't backed that up yet this season.
In 39 games played this season, Boeser has 15 goals and 29 points, which is fairly solid as well, putting him on pace for over 30 goals on an 82-game pace, and for New York and Buffalo, this could be a solid and fairly cheap acquisition.
Boeser's latest deal carried a salary cap hit of $6.65 million over three years, and at 27 years of age, he's likely looking for a long-term deal to secure his future, but with many injury issues behind him, the Canucks may ultimately prefer to trade him, rather than extend.
