Chicago Blackhawks Ask Veteran Nick Foligno To Keep Connor Bedard From Breaking The Teams Rules
Connor Bedard is already an NHL superstar, and it's his work ethic that has got him there. Now, the Blackhawks are asking him to tone it down to enable a full recovery of his jaw injury.
Blackhawks Training Staff Ask Foligno For Help Keeping Bedard at Bay
NHL players have a special tendency to want to rush themselves back from injury, given how tough they are and how much they love the game. Rookie superstar Conner Bedard is no different. He suffered a broken jaw and has been out for a few weeks, but it has been reported that he is chomping at the bit to get back on the ice.
He's been after the trainers so hard for a return that they had to get Nick Foligno involved to keep him at bay.
Nick Foligno said the trainers asked for his help to keep Connor Bedard (jaw) at bay because he's already lobbying to skate: "He's dying. It's pretty funny. I'm like: 'Man, just pump the brakes a little bit.' But that's who he is. That's why you love him." #Blackhawks
This is just another green flag for Blackhawks fans that they have the real deal in Bedard. He will surely follow the orders of the training staff, but for a star like him, it is impossible for him to stay away from the game for too long.
Bedard's Work Ethic Is Unmatched And Will Skyrocket Him to Success
Bedard's first year in the NHL has been an overwhelming success. He has 33 points in 39 games played, which is amazing given the pressure on him and the struggles the Blackhawks have faced.
You can definitely point to Bedard's continued work ethic as a component of his success. Despite having a good start to his career, he hasn't stopped working extra minutes after practice to polish his game.
Hopefully, Bedard will be able to return soon to the ice, for his sanity and the sanity fo Blackhawks fans.
