Connor Bedard Accidentally Has Hot Mic Pick Up His Thoughts On Sidney Crosby
Connor Bedard's NHL debut went just about as well as it could have. He didn't score a goal, but he did get several chances and managed to score his first career point as an assist on a Ryan Donato goal. One area of the game where he struggled though came in the faceoff circle.
Bedard Compliments Crosby's Faceoff Skills
The 18-year-old rookie ultimately won just 15% of his draws, going 2-11 on faceoffs. However, thanks to a new video from the game that came out, we now know what was going through Bedard's head as he took these draws against Sidney Crosby.
"- Bedard: Im yet to win a draw.
- Ref: Is that true?
- Bedard: I think I tied like five, but...
- Ref: Really tough when you're going against 87, though.
- Bedard: He's sick at draws.
- Ref: Pretty special though isn't it?
- Bedard: Yeah
- Ref: Congratulations you're gonna have a hell of a career.
- Bedard: Thanks."
Bedard Off To Hot Start
Through his first two games, Bedard has a goal an assist. Perhaps more notably, his Blackhawks are 1-1 after facing two tough opponents in the Penguins and the Bruins. The Hawks already seem to be much better than they were last year, particularly when it comes to creating offense.
As a result, the Blackhawks are must watch television right now. Bedard is off to a hot start and the team appears to be full of energy for the first time in awhile. They next take on the Canadiens tonight at 7:00PM EST.
