Connor McDavid demands a Golden Knights' Suspension
As you can imagine, Connor McDavid is not too pleased about a two-handed slash on his teammate Leon Draisaitl in game 4 against the Vegas Golden Knights. McDavid spoke to reporters following the Edmonton win, and insisted Alex Pietrangelo's actions had nothing to do with hockey and need to be reviewed.
"You'd like to see it reviewed, for sure," said McDavid "I would like to see [him] suspended. It's as 'intent to injure' as you can get. Time, score, clock all play a factor. He comes from over his own head and places it just kind of under Leon's chin. It's not a hockey play."
The play came late in the game with the Oilers up 4-1 and the Vegas net empty. Draisaitl was attempting to shoot on the empty net, but got the two-hander from Pietrangelo for his actions. Pietrangelo was given a five minute major and a 10 minute misconduct, which took him out of the game.
The series is now tied at two games each, with game 5 taking place Friday night.
