This week Detroit Red Wings prospect Dmitri Buchelnikov made it known he has no interest in leaving the KHL. The 2nd round pick of the Wings is a highly touted young talent, that Steve Yzerman was hoping to bring to North America.
Yesterday in KHL action though Buchelnikov got an early taste of pro hockey. As Buchelnikov came across the center of the ice he was hit by Roman Chemerikin and was sent hard to the ice.
THIS IS NOT GOOD AT ALL 😨
#LGRW prospect Dmitri Buchelnikov had to be helped off the ice after this hit to the head. He exits to the room. *Edited for time.
Roman Chemerikin got 2 minutes for an illegal check to the head. #VHL
Reports state that Buchelnikov was crying on the bench after the hit. Hopefully the Red Wings prospect is alright after this scary collision.
