The Florida Panthers beat the Montreal Canadiens 7-2 last night. The game was a matchup between two non-playoff teams. During the 3rd period of last night's game Radko Gudas and Joel Edmundson came together after a whistle.
The incident started with Gudas and Kirby Dach exchanging slashes. Then Edmundson came in from behind and delivered a cross check to the back of Gudas sending him to the ice. Gudas then falls the ice and as the linesman tries to intervene, a stick comes free and gets tied up in his feet.
The linesman fell to the ice and immediately began clutching his leg in pain.
Linesman Ryan Jackson was forced to leave the game and would not return, while Edmundson was ejected while Gudas was given a minor penalty for his cross check.
