The Tampa Bay Lightning have developed a reputation for pushing the limits. They've manipulated the salary cap through loopholes and Jon Cooper is known for playing referees. Tonight though Brandon Hagel made an attempt at one of the most controversial goals you'll see all year.
With the puck resting on Igor Shesterkin's pads, Hagel reaches down and picks up the puck with his glove and throws it to the ice. The puck then bounces off a skate of a Rangers player and goes into the net. The referees initially ruled this a good goal, but after review reversed the call.
In the Lightning case if you aren't cheating you aren't trying.
