Igor Shesterkin is a former 4th round pick, 118th overall by the New York Rangers all the way back in the 2014 draft.
Shesterkin was drafted out of the KHL, where at the time he was playing for the Moscow Spartak. He later became a member of the dominant St. Petersburg SKA team where it took a few years but by the 2016-17 season he was playing in 30+ games a season, where he put up ungodly numbers in goal.
16-17: 0.937 SV%. 1.64 GAA
17-18: 0.933 SV% 1.69 GAA
18-19: 0.953 SV% 1.11 GAA
In the 2019-20 season, we finally got to see Shesterkin make his North American debut where he played for the Hartford Wolf Pack and again, his numbers were phenomenal; 0.934 SV% 1.90 GAA.
Later that season he made his NHL debut and has never looked back since. In his rookie year with the Rangers he had an impressive: 0.932 SV% and 2.52 GAA.
Now half way through the 2021-22 season, Shesterkin has just set a franchise record for fastest goalie to win 50 games.
Do we have a new King in New York?
