Evander Kane is now a member of the Edmonton Oilers. On Tuesday night Kane returned with his new team to San Jose, the city where his NHL career was nearly derailed by Kane's poor choices. Kane was never a media favourite in San Jose, and he often grew tired of the media asking questions he didn't want to answer.
One of the reporters that Kane consistently clashed with was Sheng Peng and yesterday wasn't much different. Yesterday when Kane was asked "why things didn't work in San Jose," rather than accepting any sort of accountability Kane chose to go in a different direction.
"We've continued to beat this dead horse over and over and over again. You seem to continue to want to talk about it over and over again, I'm not even part of the team anymore. You probably write more articles about me than you write about anybody else on the team. So I don't know. I'm not going to get into that. I'm here to play hockey, and you'll continue to make those judgments and write reports."
Despite being on his 4th team and playing on his 8th or 9th chance it appears Kane hasn't change his view on the world. Kane still views it as "Me versus The World" and that attitude will likely continue to be his undoing.
