Linesman's Terrible Mistake Lands a Player Unconscious
An unusual scene unfolded during a recent hockey game, and the video is going viral.
Linesman Makes a Horrible Mistake
We've seen it in the NHL as well. Sometimes, referees try to intervene when fights start to try to stop them. When they do, not only do they deprive the fans of a great show, but they also take an unnecessary risk.
In this case, instead of staying away and circling the fight, the linesman goes straight between them, blinding a player in the process. His opponent hit him hard right afterward while he was defenseless.
Viral Video
You can see it clearly in the video that the referee should've stayed away.
This incident reflects how important the referee's job is, but also how important it is that it's done well.
Unfortunately, this video will reinforce the public's opinion of officiating in hockey as never being good enough.
