The Nashville Predators had a huge bounce-back season last year and it was mainly on he back of Roman Josi, Fillip Forsberg and resurgence years from Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansen.
The Predators went into the playoffs with a lot of confidence, only to learn that Juuse Saros their starting goalie would not be available for the first round, and they lost 4 straight games to the eventual stanley cup champion Colorado Avalanche.
The team went into the offseason with one major task to complete which was to resign 40 goal scorer Fillip Forsberg, which they did to an 8 year deal.
Another was to add some additional scoring, which today they also addressed that need.
Today the Nashville Predators agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Nino Niederreiter, that comes with an AAV of $4 million.
Last season Niederreiter had 24 goals and 44 points in 75 games for the Carolina Hurricanes, playing in a middle 6 role. Nino is a big body, 6'02" and 220 pounds who can score from the outside and get to the dirty areas. He will be a great addition to the Predators and at a friendly deal as well.
