The New York Rangers picked up a massive addition last season, landing Patrick Kane via trade, and now, the three-time Cup Champion is a free agent, with seemingly every contender being linked to him this summer.
A new landing spot emerges
Every team from New York, Colorado, Edmonton, Buffalo, Florida and so many others were linked to the former Blackhawks star, and now, one New York Insider has revealed some new, shocking information.
According to Larry Brooks of the NY Post, the Rangers reunion isn't likely to happen, and reveals that he believes Kane will head north, joining up with the core four and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
A Stanley Cup contender
The Leafs, with their incredible offense and potential for fantastic goaltending are already considered a major Stanley Cup contender, but the addition of Kane could give them the depth and experience they need to finally make a deep run.
Ultimately, Detroit, Buffalo, Toronto and so many other teams are still in the race, and even in a 'down' year last season, Kane managed 21 goals and 57 points, and if he can play at that level, he'll be a worthwhile signing for any contender.
