The Tampa Bay Lightning were trying to do something that has never been done in a cap era, which was win 3 cups in a row. The players constantly talked about how this cup was going to mean more to them than even winning the first one.
During the final minute of play, it looked it was becoming more clear to the Lightning players that their winning streak was about to end. With just over 20 seconds remaining and the Avalanche leading 2-1, the puck went into Tampa's zone and Kucherov who had just broke his stick went to the bench for a new one and the trainer didn't have one immediately ready to go and Kucherov was pissed.
Kucherov rips off his gloves and throws them at the trainer out of pure anger.
The Avalanche would kill off the final minute of play and become the 2022 Stanley Cup Champions!
Kucherov broke his stick and heads to the bench. The equipment manager doesn't have one ready, so he chucks his gloves at him and quits.
Wow.
