Patrick Kane Reveals His True Feelings About Returning to the United Center to Play Chicago
Patrick Kane is set to make his return to Chicago in the coming months and has revealed his true feelings about taking on his former team in his former City.
Kane Wants to Play With Chip on Shoulder In Return to Chicago
Patrick Kane will always be part Chicago Blackhawk, given his incredible career in the Windy City and the prominence that he and his teammates had during their tenures there. However, times have changed, and Kane is set to make his return to Chicago with the Detroit Red Wings in February.
While Kane played last season for the Rangers, this time feels a bit different, as there was clearly an opportunity for the Blackhawks to bring him back in free agency. When asked about his return to Chicago, Kane said he hopes to play with a chip on his shoulder.
"I have no idea. I've always played with a bit of a chip on the shoulder, so hopefully I have a little bit that night and can play a good game and help the Wings win."
Kane also noted that the game should be a fun one, given that the Blackhawks are raising Chris Chelios' jersey to the rafters.
"It'll be fun to go back there on February 25th. Chelios' jersey going up and the first game back on the road, so it'll be a fun night."
Kane Has Had an Immediate Impact on the Detroit Red Wings
Kane has hit his stride immediately after joining the Detroit Red Wings, with 14 points in his first 16 games this season. He has been able to showcase his infamous shootout skills as well, with a few shootout winners under his belt already.
Patrick Kane (@88PKane) has been putting on a show in Detroit, that's for sure. 🎬
It will be must-see TV when Kane returns to Chicago in February, and we will see how Chicago fans reminisce during the event.
