For the past few years the National Hockey League has been trying to grow the game in other countries by playing some pre-season and even some regular season games abroad.
This year we saw some games in Czechia, we've also seen games in Sweden and Finland.
With our beautiful games having players from all over the world, it only makes sense to try and grow the game in other markets.
Well, it now looks like the game is going to be expanding into a surprising market and playing where you would never expect to see ice.
Though not confirmed nor finalized, there are further strides being made towards a couple potential @NHL preseason games being played in Australia 🇦🇺 🦘 next season. Situation remains fluid.
There has only ever been one player from Australia make the NHL, and he is a former 3rd round pick of the Washington Capitals, who is currently playing for the St. Louis Blues, forward Nathan Walker.
