The Habs are in the midst of a rebuild and want to do it 'the right way' and make sure that when they make the playoffs next, they are a well developed team that will continue to be a contender for years to come.
The LA Kings are a team that is full of veteran players but also some very good young prospects like Byfield, Kaliyev, Turcotte and Clarke for examples.
This season the Montreal Canadiens have suffered some injuries to their back end to Joel Edmundson and Mike Matheson, which has pushed their young star prospect Kaiden Guhle to the top pair, which the Habs definitely did not want to do this season.
According to NHL Trade Rumours, the LA Kings might be looking to move one of their right handed defencemen to bring in someone who could help offensively.
With the former Habs General Manager Marc Bergevin now working as the assistant to Rob Blake, could he look to bring a player he was super high on from the Habs over to the Kings? Jonathan Drouin perhaps?
Montreal wants to get young potential star players in the lineup and someone like Brandt Clarke would be a target for them from the Kings, so could we see something like Drouin + picks in return for this young right handed defenceman?
The Kings have an abundance of defencemen and will look to trade one of them at one point. #GoKingsGo https://t.co/wULxtTPpuL NHL Trade Rumors (@NHLTradeRumors) October 15, 2022
