The Seattle Kraken have been heavily criticized for how they treated their 4th overall pick Shane Wright at the beginning of the season. Playing him in only 7 games and giving him less than 8 minutes on average per night.

For the last 2 weeks, Wright has been loaned to their AHL franchise to play with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, where he scored 4 goals in 5 games.

Last night he was called back up to the Kraken and got his opportunity to play against the Montreal Canadiens, who passed on him with the first overall selection.

In his 8th game of the season, Wright got his revenge against the Habs and scored his first goal of his NHL career.

Many have been wondering if the Kraken would release Wright to play for Team Canada at the upcoming World Juniors, and it seems like we have gotten the answer.

According to Stephanie Leroux who reported on 98.5 FM, the Kraken will soon be loaning Wright to Team Canada.

Canada announced their camp roster on Monday and Wright will just add to this already stacked lineup:
