They are currently the defending champions from the August 2022 Tournament, that was rescheduled from Christmas, and well, looking at this roster on paper, they are definitely favourites to win gold again.
The roster is highlighted by 4th overall pick Shane Wright, projected #1 and #2 overall picks Connor Bedard and Adam Fantilli. Then add in players like Brandt Clarke who was released from the LA Kings to play, who was their 2021 8th overall pick, and Dylan Guenther who was released by the Arizona Coyotes and already has 11 points in his NHL season, this team just looks stacked.
With the talent on this roster, this could be one of the deepest team Canada's they've ever had.
But we need to remember, a team like the 2005 team, it was full of players that could score, but players took on different roles to make them elite, will this team Canada be able to do that?
