With Patrice Bergeron's era in Boston officially closed, it is time for the Bruins to find a replacement. It appears they have kicked tires on a surprising player.

Could Zegras be Headed to Boston?

The Anaheim Ducks are in a very interesting place as a franchise. Two of their stars, in Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras are RFA's, and both susceptible to an offer sheet. They also have incredible depth at centre, with 2023 2nd overall pick Leo Carlsson, 2021 3rd overall pick Mason McTavish, and 2022 22nd overall pick Nathan Gaucher.

While he is the face of their franchise, Trevor Zegras is essentially expendable, especially considering the two sides haven't yet come to a deal.

With the Bruins lacking a #1 centre, these two teams are perfect trade partners.

Per a source close to the Anaheim Ducks, the Bruins have inquired on Zegras, and, to a lesser extent, Trevor Zegras.

Following Bergeron's retirement, reports indicate that the Bruins have reached out to the Anaheim Ducks regarding Trevor Zegras.

Zegras is an RFA, and is susceptible to an offer sheet (assuming the Bruins can re-acquire their 2024 1st round pick).

The Bruins have also kicked tires on Mason McTavish, but they would prefer Zegras.

Could these two teams be a trade match made in heaven?
