RUMOUR: William Nylander Vetoes Major Trade That Would Send Him West
William Nylander is likely to be moved if he cannot get extended but there are rumors that he shot down a trade to a Western Conference team.
Nylander Rejects Trade To Arizona
Recently, a major rumor has surfaced that the Arizona Coyotes and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been in trade discussions regarding William Nylander.
The Maple Leafs and Arizona Coyotes explored a deal involving Nylander and Keller Nylander is unwilling to extend in Arizona as of now.
This deal, if it goes through, would be the biggest trade of the season undoubtedly. Nylander and Keller are both stars in their own regard and could eventually blossom into the perfect trade partners.
Keller VS Nylander
Putting Nylander and Keller head to head there are many similarities to be seen. First off, both are right wings which means if they are swapped they would just assume the role of where their counterpart currently plays.
The two are also relatively young with Nylander at 26 and Keller at 24. Both are also top 10 picks with Nylander going 8th and Keller going 7th.
Comparing nearly identical stat lines, Keller had 36 goals and 86 points last season while Nylander had 40 goals and 87 points.
Keller is under contract for just over $7 million for the next few seasons while Nylander is demanding an extension. This combined with Keller producing on a far weaker team and him being younger makes Keller the more valuable of the two but Toronto could part with the necessary assets to make this deal work.
