Larry Brooks of the New York Post has linked the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers as possible trade partners as the trade deadline nears. According to Brooks he has heard the Rangers have interest in Blackhawks star winger Patrick Kane.
Kane has this season and one more left at a cap hit of $10,500,000. Kane has played has entire career as a Blackhawk and has tallied 1110 points in 1051 career games. The move would reunite Kane and former teammate Artemi Panarin.
Brooks believes the package would look something like Kaapo Kakko, Vitali Kravtsov, Nils Lundqvist, and a 2022 first-round pick. It will be interesting to see how the season progresses for the Rangers and if Kane would ultimately waive his no movement clause to facilitate a move to New York.
