After the playoffs, the Tampa Bay Lightning unfortunately had to move on from veteran defenceman Ryan McDonagh trading him to the Nashville Predators to free up some cap space.
Well, many did not understand the trade, but we definitely understand it now.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have resigned their 24 year old Russian defenceman that they acquired a few years ago from the Montreal Canadiens, to a MASSIVE 8 year deal!
