The Edmonton Oilers made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals last season on the back of 40 year old goaltender Mike Smith and Mikko Koskinen.
After the season Koskinen announced he was leaving the NHL and Mike Smith is supposed to go on long-term injured reserve to finish off the final year of his contract, so the Oilers were in the market for a new goalie.
The best goaltenders available were Darcy Kuemper and Jack Campbell, and like the Oilers landed one of the best available in Jack Campbell.
The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with Free Agent goaltender, Jack Campbell. 5 years. $5 million AAV.
Campbell had a decent season for the Maple Leafs last year, but absolutely fell apart in the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
