After spending his entire career as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers, he was traded at the trade deadline for a chance to go win a stanley cup. He apparently turned down a trade ironically to the Colorado Avalanche and was instead traded to the Florida Panthers, who unfortunately ended up getting swept in the second round.
Rumours about Giroux has had him linked to multiple teams, but according to Bob Mackenzie, the Ottawa Senators have won the sweepstakes and will be taking home the Claude prize!
Pierre Dorion has had an incredible off-season already. He acquired Alex DeBrincat, traded Matt Murray and added Cam Talbot.
Adding Giroux will make the Senators a real threat for the post season next year. Giroux provides the veteran leadership they are lacking and a great second line center allowing Stutzle to move back to the wing.
