Kadri showed his potential last season when he was on pace for over 100 points. Kadri scored 28 goals 87 points in 71 games last season and followed it up with 15 points in 16 playoff games, while playing in the finals with a broken bones.
While the Colorado Avalanche would love to keep the services of Kadri, his price tag is likely going to be too high as they will need to resign Nathan MacKinnon shortly as well. It was reported that the Avalanche are taking one last shot at Kadri but with just over an hour to go, it's not looking good.
Kadri is going to get a minimum of $8 million per season on his next deal but according to some NHL Insider's like Nick Kypreos, teams are winning to go above $10 million to land Nazem Kadri.
Some of the teams reported to be interested are the Boston Bruins, Arizona Coyotes and Seattle Kraken.
It was also just reported from ESPN by EMily Kaplan that the Calgary Flames have now entered the mix as well.
There are a handful of teams in on Nazem Kadri.
Again, look out for a large contract, which he earned after a career year + strong playoff performance (and competing hard, returning from thumb surgery).
NYR & others in Metro are in mix, but I'm told Calgary is a dark horse. https://t.co/GMPvldJWo5 Emily Kaplan (@emilymkaplan) July 13, 2022
The Flames just lost their best player in Johnny Gaudreau, but if they're able to replace him with Nazem Kadri, that will make the pain sting a little less.
