After the completion of this season, the Boston Bruins were unsure what was going to happen with their captain Patrice Bergeron. Currently a UFA, Bergeron had offseason surgery and many wondered whether he would finish his career in Montreal, retire or return back to the Bruins.
It was announced yesterday that David Krejci is making an NHL comeback and it in discussions with the Bruins about a contract right now, and it sounds like his former teammate will be joining him!
Francois Gagnon of RDS reported this first, stating that the Bruins and Bergeron have come to terms on a 1 year contract, but details have not yet been announced.
Bergeron is recovering well from his surgery and is working his way back to full health. After winning a league record 5th Selke trophy last season as the best defence forward, Bergeron is still capable of being a difference maker in his league, even at his age.
If Bergeron returns on a team friendly deal and David Krejci does the same, look for the Bruins to once again be a force to be reconned with in the Atlantic division.
